The concert at St Cuthbert’s, Wells on 22nd June 2025 was a great success. Here, Margaret Philips introduces her pieces. Margaret played the church organ and the Goetze and Gwynn ‘Tudor’ Wingfield organ. In the first half, the Tudor organ was played and music included Missa in die Sanctae Trinitas by Philip ap Rhys (fl. 1530) with voices; and Gloria tibi Trinitas by John Blithemann (c.1525–1591). The gentlemen sat on the left of the photo sang the plainsong parts of the first item in the programme.
After an interval with tea and cake, Margaret moved to the church organ to play works by Bach and Klaas Bolt.
